Every day at Bobtails we love to learn and have fun while we’re doing it! Here’s what a typical day looks like...
Arrive & Story time!
Children are welcome to arrive at nursery any time between 8.45am and 9.00 am and join everyone on the carpet for story time.
Fun & Games
We get our brains working first thing with a short exercise session - typically a group ring game, activity rhymes or a visit to the “brain gym”.
We enjoy doing lots of things together so we all look forward to “circle time” where we share our news, complete registration, sing songs and say rhymes, do group number and letter work or take part in a Montessori style demonstration.
Break & Snack
Time to have a break, when we pop to the loo (or get a clean nappy) if we haven’t already, wash our hands and sit down at the tables to have a healthy snack. Whilst we are nibbling away we get to natter amongst ourselves or with the staff.
Everyone needs a little rest every now and again, so after our snack we can relax by listening to some gentle music, reading our favourite books or dressing up.
Up until lunchtime (yummy) we can choose what we want to do from a range of activities
Activities from the Montessori shelves
Role play, construction and small world play
Educational videos or favourite video stories
More imaginative fun with one of our favourite stories!
We eat our yummy and healthy lunch between 12pm and 1pm. (Take a look at a typical menu here.) After lunch, we get to do it all again!
Time to go home
After a fun-packed day our mummies and daddies pick us up from 4pm onwards. Try not to be late as everyone goes home at 4.15pm.
See you tomorrow!
Having a quiet read...
Making mince pies at Christmas
Learning to recycle!
Writing letters in the sand
Pre-school education is one of the most important decisions we make for our children. At Bobtails we offer a balance of purposeful activity and independent learning and play, that we hope will positively shape your child’s attitude and approach to future learning and fun.
We provide a wide variety of activities both Montessori and non-Montessori that are adapted to suit a wide range of ages and abilities.
The classroom is organised into workshop areas linked to areas of learning and to steps leading to the Early Learning Goals. Our curriculum, based on the Montessori method, and complying with Ofsted requirements includes the following areas of learning:
** Communication & Language **
** Personal, Social & Emotional Development **
** Physical Development **
** Listening **
** Mathematics **
** Understanding The World **
** Expressive Arts & Design **
